I was wondering if folks would be kind enough to provide me some insight into my situation.

I currently own a Primare SP32 AV processor. For the past 2 years, it has needed 2 separate repairs for the same issue. Namely, with any audio-video sources connected via HDMI (e.g. Blu-Ray, Cable TV, HTPC), there is video output, without any audio. In fact, I can also site the exact sequence of event when the system fails. Specifically, I power up the processor, and immediately I hear a loud thump through the speakers, followed by dead silence. Since it was under extended warranty with Magnolia AV, it was serviced without cost. However, they never really quite gave me an idea on what was repaired. The only thing they offered was "there was work done on the motherboard".

Now, it has happened again. Except, my warranty expired about 6 months ago. Before I bring my processor for an estimate, does anyone have an idea on what might be the issue here?

I am simply asking for some ideas. It sounds like the audio board to me, personally.

I appreciate any help you might be able to offer.

Is there audio from any non-HDMI sources? If so, it's your HDMI board that's probably the issue.
