Hey gang, if I buy newer E model XBOX 360 that doesn't have an optical output I am wondering if I can use my mixamp and headset that uses optical. I run the 360 to the Yamaha receiver via HDMI. I have a headset and mixamp that I used via the optical out port on the older 360 model. I have the Yamaha RX-V565 and have cropped a picture and will post it below to show you what I have. I'm wondering id I can somehow use the optical port labeled "AV 1" on the bottom left of the picture and still use HDMI for my 360 video. I am pretty confused. I'm really hoping some of you smart people can give me some advice haha. I'm not sure what my options are. Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of. Thank you very much for your time. Any advice is much appreciated.

That is an input so no, I don't think it will work.

Hi He Save Dave, that will not work as RollTide2011 posted. You're better off getting the Xbox S model instead of spending money on a HDMI Audio Converter.http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011412&p_id=10251&seq=1&format=2

Actually, I would much prefer buying the newer model E over the Slim version. Will that converter do the trick and give me real good audio through optical while using HDMI for video? Is it a good converter? I don't see any reviews. This would be absolutely perfect if it works well. That'd be awesome! Thank you so much!

Edit: I've been doing some reading and I am getting conflicting stories as to whether the E model is faster than the Slim model. If it is, I'd like to buy the E and use that adapter assuming the adapter is of good quality and give me great sound. Anyone know about this?
