I'd love to play audio from my iPod via USB or AirPlay, but want to have the TV on to at least watch the game. TV audio is not important. I can't figure out how to do this. Any help? Many thanks!

Although directly possible using one of the newer E/X models and "Video Select", this is not the case with the XX13 models. Rather you would be better served connecting the cable/sat box HDMI to the TV with an optical cable from the cable/sat box to the 1713.
