Hello all. Firstly, sorry if this is not the correct place, probably a few boards this thread would be applicable to.

Anyway, I'm looking for the most simple device to split a HDMI signal into a HDMI and optical signal.

Got the new XBOX 360 E, which has had the optical output dropped from it (I know, right...). So in order to connect it to my PC monitor (XL2420T) and PC speakers (Z-5500), without resorting to stereo, I need something to split the signal.

I don't need multiple inputs or switching capabilities, just something simple.

Ideally, this thing from Turtle Beach is what I want, but it's not out yet, and I don't really feel like waiting for sometime between now and the end of "Fall" for it to release.

Any help and ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Depends on your needs as they would both accomplish the goal you're after ... ie. HDMI ---> optical

Item 1 also features a coax digital and 3.5 mm output
Item 2 also features analog R/L outputs

The R/L outputs on item 2 would be a nice feature if you want to pass the audio to Zone 2, not to mention it is currently priced less than item #1. smile.gif
