I have an XBox connected to my Yamaha RXA810 receiver via HDMI and another HDMI connection from the Yamaha to the TV (an LG 60PZ550).  As far as I know all the settings are correct on the Xbox, but I have a constant problem with the TV screen flickering.  This doesn't happen with other components hooked up to the TV via the receiver (Blu Ray player, cable TV).

Has anyone else had this problem?  Any thoughts on the cause or whether there's a fix?

Hi jazzygreg, on the Xbox try to disable "Display Discovery". Console Settings -> Display -> (scroll down) Display Discovery.

Thanks JChin!

I finally got a chance to try this out yesterday and it seems to have fixed the problem.  At first the picture quality seemed to have gotten worse but after I corrected the settings to 1080p everything looked great.  This has been an annoyance for about a year and a half so I really appreciate the advice and the clear instructions.

Just curious, do you know why the discover setting causes the flickering?

Thanks again!
