Been meaning to jump to hdmi from my trustworthy denon 3802 and I just saw this on craigslist ... seems to have everything I'd need, including I think front channel pre-outs and 3d ...

Thoughts?

They have one at Amazon for $799.00 it would seem $300.00 isn't a bad price specs are decent for price.
has ARC also .

The Soviet people feared the KGB was watching them through their TV's ........or listening to them through their radios, so they kept them turned off often when they wanted privacy .Now the NSA/ DHS /CIA etc. are watching and listening to us!

Too much money. This is a 3 year old model which originally released for $799; however, not only does it not have any main zone pre-outs it also has no Zone 2 pre-outs as well, not to mention it only uses Audyssey MultEQ which is the same version found on the current lower level E300/E400 models. You can likely find a Denon 3808CI (successor to your 3802) which has a full set of main zone pre-outs, Zone 2 and Zone 3 pre-outs as well as the more advanced version of Audyssey MultEQ XT and is a networking model for about $400.

If you don't need networking, also look at the 2808CI released that same year which would also include the full set of pre-outs and Audyssey MultEQ XT.
Tangled Cable likes this.

the problem with the 2808 is that it only has 2 HDMI inputs and this version of Audyssey MultEQ XT doesn't have Dynamic volume and Dynamic EQ. But it does have a full set of preouts if you need to add an external amp.

An HDMI switch can be used to add more HDMI inputs, and if these features are desired, the 2809CI would include them.
