Hello everybody!

I would really appreciate some advice on a little problem I have :)

I am a stereo-man, always have and always will (thanks Dad! :)). My current setup is a set of JBL ES90 speakers powered by Harman Kardon HK 3490. For my needs this is a perfect setup, however... I have an opportunity (by opportunity I meant my kinds and their bloody PSP or whatever they have) to create a 5.1 setup. Ideally I'd like to keep my JBLs as front/left and buy additional ES speakers as centre and satellites. I am not worried about the speakers, or the space. My concern is the avr. Some time ago I wanted to buy HK AVR165 but I sort of missed the opportunity. I can see that it is no longer available... Now the main question: do you think that this new AVR 171 from Harman will have enough power for the JBLs ES series?? It has 2 HDMI outputs which is a real convenience.,,

Thanks for your advice! Let me know what you think!

The mentioned JBL ES Series products are high sensitivity (90dB) so the 171 will power these just fine...
Next question.. 👽

Just my $0.05... 👍😉

The reason I asked was because I wasn't familiar with the model number so didn't know the specs. If you had provided a link it would have been helpful. smile.gif

But M Code answered your question later. Looks like you should be okay.
