This problem is identical to the issue with another Disney movie - John Carter that was posted in this forum last year. There is a strange echo in the sound that comes and goes in The Little Mermaid movie. Denon did nothing (that I'm aware of) to correct the JC problem and this one will likely be the same. Seemed to only affect the Denon XX09 series of receivers.

Thanks for the reminder on this. I've got the latest firmware installed. I'm sure with a 4+ year old receiver like the 2309CI there is going to be no solution from Denon. The work-around for problematic Disney titles is to let the Blu-ray player do the decoding of the DTS-HD Master Audio so it's not a total loss just a hassle.
