I need some help deciding whether to get a pre amp or a receiver. My setup will be a 2.0 system for listening to music and watching T.V. I already have a dedicated H.T for movies. My speakers are in the process of being made. They are Salk veracity S.T's in Mexican Zircote. I've already bought a XPA-2 gen 2 to power the ST's. I'm not sure if I should get a pre amp or just a decent receiver. I'm looking to spend around or less than $1300. I've never had a pre amp before so not sure of the adv/dis. I need some expert help and options please.

thanks

Is there any advantage with a pre amp over a receiver. My outputs
will be direct tv and Apple TV only.

Primarily unit $ cost...
Production unit volume for AVRs are significantly higher than those of separate component preamp/controllers...
AVRs hold a 90% market share vs. 10% for separate components..

Just my $0.05...👍😉
