All,

I recently upgraded my projector to a new EPSON 5020. I have an older Rotel RSP-1069 that cannot pass the 3D signal to the projector. I Have a bluray player with a single HDMI out (not one that can do audio/video seperately). I dont want to buy a new receiver.

How can I send video directly to the projector and audio to the receiver?

Thanks

you could use optical or digital coax out to the receiver. It wont be lossless True HD or DTS-MA audio like HDMI can do but it'll be high bitrate audio and sound very very good.

I assume your Blu Ray player has optical or digital coax output?

It does and that does work, however, the result is - as you pointed out - no DTS-HD, MA, 7channell audio, etc.

I am really looking for a solution that splits or doubles the HDMI signal.

Anyone know of something like that?

In short, I don't think you can do what you want with the current equipment. Per the suggestion of using a digital audio connection, the Rotel should be able to "duplicate" 7.1 with the Doly and DTS formats.(i.e Neo6, etc.). I think this is as close as you can get.

You may want to look at an HDMI repeater (the reverse of a splitter); they're pricey but it may be worth it to keep the Rotel.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I bought all this "stuff" to enjoy it!
