I adjusted and tuned the Onkyo SR806 for a few hours but am afraid to turn it off in case it "forgets" some settings if powered off.

What settings in the SR806 survive a power cycle?

Does it remember the Z2, Audyssey, Listening Preset settings even after being powered off?

Unless there is a malfunction in the memory section - yes - it will remember the settings from running Audyssey and user settings as well. It may not remember you switched from 5.1 to 2.1 music but thats easy enough to turn back on.

The power draw of this unit seems to be 60W when idle!

BTW: Does the Audyssey setup try the subwoofer too? After the Audyssey setup, I noticed that it had turned LFE off and I did not hear any sounds off the subwoofer during the calibration process

You might want to make sure the subwoofer is on during Audyssey setup. It should detect it during the setup process. It is possible to remove the subwoofer in the manual setup menu. If that has been done the subwoofer may not be queried during the Audyssey setup.
