I have a Older Yamaha RX-V867 with Network that's working well in Living room.

Anyways looking to get a New Sony,Pioneer or Onkyo for my Bedroom that I will only use for a 37 inch Lcd Tv and a Old Nitendo and want to Have Wifi so I can Listen to Vtuner at night while trying to go to sleep.(people leave their Tv on for falling asleep but I rather listen to a radio}

I have Been using a GRACE Internet radio with Wifi that cost me $175 about 2 years ago but feel maybe using a High end Sony with Wifi will make it a lot better to fall asleep instead of using the Porable Grace radio.

My problem
I know I can buy a New Pioneer VSX-822-K for $189 and another$30 for the No Name wireless link to be able to get onto my wireless router.
But I feel maybe its best to spend a bit more and get a

Sony STR-DN840 or Sony STR-DN1030
The Sony DN840 is going for $450 while the
Sony DN1030 is $424 with Tax from Costco
I know that the Sony DN1030 is a little older then the DN840 but $25 is not a
problem if I get the DN840.
For some reason I am leaning towards the DN1030 thinking its atad better then the DN830?......Thanks JT

after reading the spec on the 840, it sounds like it will do what you want.
the 1030 is the old one replaced by the 1040/ the 4K TV pass through.

just about the only difference is power out, and the new 840 is 4K TV pass through.

Thanks for the good advise in getting the DN840 ( think they all do what I want since I am not doing much other then listening to Vturner,Thats my hope}

Yep I know that the DN1030 and DN1040 are kinda the same except a few little items
like the 4K and the $175 extra for the DN1040.
I like the Price of the DN1030 for $424 even if its only 8 - 12 months older?
I like having a Receiver with a Wifi built in to listen to Vtuner.
Seems the DN840 has been around $450 for awhile?And the DN1030 has been getting cheaper?
Maybe its best to wait a week or two too seen if there will be a price drop on
these since Black Fri will be here(don't mind buying the receivers now but with holidays prices should go lower lol}.Thanks........JT

Going to get a Sony STR-DN840 for $399
Was going to buy a Onkyo TX-NR626 for $444 but it does NOT have Vtuner but a service called Tunein and Tunein does not get as many radio stations as the Vtuner does.(Not Good}
But for $399 I feel that this receiver will not get too much lower(well maybe a little lower for the holidays}.........JT
