I found two Pioneer Elite SC-63 receivers for $550 at Best Buy, they are open box but include everything and appear in perfect condition. I was planning on getting an Onkyo 626 or a Sony 840 but for a $100 more I can get the SC-63 which appears to be in a different league from the other two, what does everyone think? I think it may be a little overkill for my Monitor 70, Monitor 60, CS2, undecided sub setup but that just seems like a really good price to me?
+1 - the Pioneer is much better than those other two. Onkyo has had issues that haven't gone away and Sony is... well I'll be nice and just say the Sony isn't going to impress anyone once they've owned a good AVR.

What are good receivers around the $500 range? Looking to power either two Polk Monitor 70s or Polk RTI a5s with matching centers and surrounds for each one. I can send music from my phone with chromecast so not to worried about that but just looking for great sound quality and good power. Thanks

Atmos coming soon and Dolby Surround isn't too shabby either.
