Hi everyone. I am new to the home theatre scene and would like some advice. I currently have a Pioneer VSX 9900s still in beautiful shape, my grandfather bought brand new and left it to me and my wife. I have a Panasonic Plasma TC-P50UT50 I would like to still be able to use the VSX 9900s if possible.
I purchased an SVS PB13-ULTRA subwoofer, it should be here Wednesday. I am thinking about getting 5 x Polk Audio Lsi M703 to use as FL C FR RL RR in a 5.1 setup.
I am unsure how to utilize the VSX 9900s as the Plasma Tv has only optical audio output and HDMI input with ARC, and the VSX 9900s does not have the interface on the rear panel for these connections.
ANy and all suggestions will be appreciated. Is there something I could get to go between the receiver/tv? Is there something I could do by using the VSX 9900s as an amplifier by removing the Jumpers on the back panel and purchasing something else to hook into the TV?
I am really brainstorming and reading a lot of the forums, I am just not coming up with the solutions clearly. Thank you for your time and patience with me.
