I just bought this receiver and I'm wondering how to set it up with my existing non-powered bookshelf speakers. I also have a sound bar. My speakers are a set of Paradigm Micro 74060, amp range 15-60 watt, nominal 8 ohm, bookshelf speakers. The soundbar is a Panasonic SC-HT810, with 1 HDMI out, 1 HDMI in, and 1 optical digital audio in.

Can I use all 3 speaker to get 'pseudo' surround sound? Which connections in the back of the receiver should I use? Maybe the owner's manual will explain everything. The speakers have bare wire connectors in the back. I'm not sure how I'm going to wire them to the receiver (maybe wrap the bare wire around the leads and screw them down since the speaker wire I have is just bare wire on both ends.

I will be using the speakers to watch blu-ray movies, streaming mp3 music and video with Apple TV, and watching Dish.

page 43 of the manual will show you how to connect the bare wire. If you don't have the manual you can download it here.

You would be better served using the sound bar on another TV and getting a dedicated center speaker to connect to the 1403.
