Hi all!  My old Yamaha receiver has finally started showing it's age, so it's time to replace.  I've been looking at many receivers around $1000 or less and I am right now at a crossroad:  stick with Yamaha or move into a Denon AVR.   I am powering a Paradigm set up with Reference 7's up front, Cinema 90's at the rear, a PDR-10 sub and a Bose VCS-10 Center channel.

Both Demon and Yamaha are great brands and it seems to me, it depends on who you ask as far as which brand is 'better.'  I am considering the Yamaha RXA-1020/2020 and the Denon AVR-X2000/3000 models.

There are many of you out there who are much more knowledgeable than me, so I welcome your comments!

As you say, can't go wrong with either brand. Ensure the models you are looking at offer the features you want. Also note that only the Yamaha 20X0/30X0 can EQ the subwoofer while both Denon models with Audyssey MultEQ XT can EQ the sub as well as the speakers.
