Going to replace my b&k507 with a newer unit as wife can't stand this one and having to deal with it's not automatic set up for every source.. so it'll go to my man cave..
onkyo txnr818 and the newer txnr727
both are 699 at the moment..... but seems the 2012 units where buggy. have they worked that out??
seems the 727 has good reviews
also looking at pioneer 1123-k
any good/bad /etc would be nice..
music playback is a biggie.. do these unit have any tone control. I know the pioneer list 9 band eq..
thanks..
will be used with smart tv. and streaming music if that matters
should I get afread or referb'd gear..??
as the 1123k is referb'd half the other 2.
this is more about wife and easy of use. and the newer units having hdmi passthrough when in standby.. but don't want a unit I'll want to pitch out window because of bugs..

MY first choice to recommend to a friend would be the Harman-Kardon AVR 3650, which Amazon is pricing at $769.

It has better sound quality than most of the others in that price range IMO, and all the bells and whistles you can think of.

The 818 has the superior Audyssey Multieq XT32 while the 727 has only Multieq which is 2 levels behind.

Check the respective model-specific threads for more user experience with specific models.
