About a year ago i replaced my beloved but tempermental denon avr-3311 with a marantz sr6006, which has been bulletproof, but has one annoying limitation. It does not allow for viewing of an independent video source (ie football gmae) with pandora or airplay streaming. As you can imagine, this was a nice little feature when having friends over to watch a game.

The unreliable 3311 could do this via component, but i am struggling to find a modern receiver that can offer the following:

Three zones (only need the second powered)
Airplay and pandora
Ability to watch different video source while listening to pandora/airplay

The third appears to rule out d&m units from 2011 onward i think. Onkyo does not have airplay. Pioneer might be an option, but their models w 3 zones are too deep for my cabinet.

Refurb 7005 my only option?

All of the new 2013 Denon and Marantz networking models can do #3, but only the current successor to the 3311CI, the X4000 and the Marantz 7008 can do 3 zones. smile.gif
