I am here new and rare being not American. I have today installed Marantz 1604 (silver/gold). The installation went smooth, but the initial results are not overhelming. I expect manual loudspeaker's adjustment will bring better results. The question is then: how the Audyssey works, how the software adjusts the speakers, what is the alghoritm, etc?. At first sight it seems to be useless function, perhaps dedicated to show new and advanced feature.

I will inform about results of my manual fittings soon.

Yours, AK

Your question is best answered by reading some of the 'Audyssey' thread. The algorithms are probably a 'state secret' over at Audyssey. If you have any questions after reading up on the subject I'm sure the regulars there will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
