My wife is tired of losing access to music while the kids play xbox. The kids don't mind playing with headphones or even without sound so that's not really the issue. The problem is being able to easily switch the audio from xbox to another source while still letting the video get from the xbox to the tv.

I suspect I could do it now on my old Denon but I don't think it would be user friendly for wife & kids. Is there a preferred way to do this or a receiver that makes it easy?

I thought about setting up a multi zone but we'd really like to keep using the same set of speakers vs. adding another pair.

You could set the xbox up on another input of the t.v. And then you can have audio from the receiver and switch t.v. Inputs for Xbox.

How is the xBox connected to the AVR? What is the music source and how is it connected to the AVR? What is the model of the current Denon AVR?
