Happy New Year everyone !!!!!!

I was wondering what is better to do........

Connect everything(all devices) on a surround av receiver with HDMI cables and run one cable HDMI from the receiver to tv or use the HDMI inputs of your TV and just get surround sound from the av receiver......

Does it make a difference on surround sound......??or on anything else ????

Thanks..

Unless there are any HDMI handshake issues, connecting every source to the AVR and let it do the switching is generally the favored configuration, otherwise video to the TV with audio to the AVR from the source.

** Think the AVR is defective?  Reset the microprocessor 4-5 times.

Actually, yes it does. When sources are connected directly to the TV, most TVs will only output stereo 2.0 audio via the optical audio output or HDMI(ARC).
