PIoneer, mostly because Onkyo has a poor reputation for reliability in comparison.

I'm no expert with this Onk model, but the reliability problems I have heard about with the HDMI boards are all on the sub-$500 models.

I have had the Onk NR-717 for about a year, zero problems. It sounds great, and has many more options than I can use.
