I know there's a thread for marrantz sr5008 - sr7008 but it's really long. My question is, I don't know if I'm missing something, but what else can the sr5008 do. I have my surround sound hooked up and I play the satellite radio stations, but what else can it do. Iv'e had it for a month and the one thing that bothers me is that I have to turn it up about 5/8ths of the way up to hear the surround sound. Anybody have one of these that can tell me what else it can do so far i'm not impressed with it, the only reason that i'm holding on to it is for the three year warranty.

Sorry, but I have to start with a dumb question. Did you run Audyssey?

Also, what speakers are you using? Subwoofer? Room layout (size, etc)?

I've never understood why someone doesn't post an AVR specific question in the Official thread saying "because it is to long"? confused.gif What does the length matter? You're much more likely to get other owner responses when you post in the official thread. wink.gif

Sorry for the late response but yes i did run Audyssey and for speakers I have cambridge sound works towers and powered sub and the room is 12' x 18'.

Jdsmoothie, I didn't want to ask a question that may have been asked already, have someone reply by saying read the whole thread that question was asked already. If you don't want to answer my question then don't reply to the thread wink.gif.

Is this the System II? From what I've read the surround speakers are the weakest link of the ensemble. If you could, what are the crossover and channel levels set at after running Audyssey for the surround speakers? You can check this by looking at Parameters in the Audyssey menu.
