Wondering if anyone out there may have an answer to my problem.  I just updated my receiver to a Denon AVR-4520ci. I was previously using the Pioneer VSX-70.  I have a Samsung 3D Blu-ray Player and an Epson Home Cinema 5030UB Home Theater Projector.  Been watching 3D movies just fine until I installed the new Denon.  Now when I try to play a 3D movie, my Blu-ray player keeps saying that my TV(projector) does not support 3D.  I updated the firmware on the Denon, but still gives the same message.  I can reconnect the Pioneer and everything works fine.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Yes, high speed cable.  Was advised on another thread to try an "active" cable instead of a "passive" one.  Ordered cable, it is on its way. Thanks.

He has a projector (read the OP) so long run is implied.

This is correct, currently running a 50ft. passive cable.

I've seen projectors with short runs; the OP simply didn't provide the details....an active cable definitely makes sense at 50 ft....

Sorry for the confusion, guess I should have said that it had a long run.

Well got the new cable, hooked it up, and still get the same message. No 3D. Any ideas of what to try next?

Next step in my book, bypass the Denon. Ordered the Panasonic DMP-BDT330 with dual HDMI output. Hopefully this will work. Not impressed with Denon so far. Pioneer worked flawlessly.

Just a thought, anything necessary to enable in the avr? You using the avr to process video or just passing it through?

Assuming to just pass through.  Not sure of what would need to be "processed".

Your avr can process the signal or you can let your projector process the video (at least I assume your projector has video processing capabilities)...you'll need to check your avr's settings as to whether it's processing or passing through your video inputs....

You could check the official Denon thread for your unit but I'd be surprised if it has any particular difficulty in processing a 3d signal....

Set unit to pass through, turned on only blu-ray player and 3-D projector.  Still no 3D. Now I am really confused...  Will have the new Panasonic DMP-BDT330 tomorrow.  Hopefully this will solve all problems..

I got no ideas for you except to try the Denon official thread http://www.avsforum.com/t/1430049/the-official-denon-avr-4520ci-thread or maybe the hdmi sub forum....

Thanks, posting on the official 4520ci thread was the first thing I did. But still no solutions there either.

Got the new Panasonic BD. Like I expected, hooking it up direct with the additional HDMI output from the player, 3D works great. Still cannot understand why the DENON breaks this 3D signal and does not allow the player to see that it is connected to a 3D supporting Video device.

I suppose it could be defective. Try a system reset on the avr?

Did any other owner of the 4520 report such problems? I'd stick with the XT32 personally. Still sucks the flagship avr can't do something it's supposed to....

Outside chance it could be a edid handshake issue audiomirage . If you havent already try a different start up procedure ; I always turn on the source last after the sink [ ive had the 3d not supported message come up rarely for no good reason on my pt7030 until everything communicates properly after switching sources to the 2nd hdmi out ]

Nothing I try seems to make it work.  Decided to just run the two HDMI cables, one directly from the new Panasonic BD player, and one from the receiver, so I can watch all sources from my projector.
