What is the purpose of this poll? Seems meaningless to me.

How can I know which is best if I've only owned 2 in the list? I can confidently state the Krell Foundation is better than the Integra DHC 80.3 (it ought to be, it's 3 times the price). But if I vote for the Krell, does that infer I think it's better than the Bryston SP3?

Esthetics aside, is there any point to paying anything over say, 4k for a processor? 10k seems outrageous just for the electronics but if a person has the money to spare and likes the looks of the thing I can understand the allure.

Now with 4k coming, things are going to change again. Everything in the list will face obsolescence in the very near future.

Many argue that they all sound the same so whats the point?. I spoke with a recording engineer that has extremely high regard for the Bryston and considered it to be worth every penny. I was in a Krell Mcintosh dealership that preferred the Mcintosh hands down over the other processors they have sold.

The owners of the Yamaha that I have spoken with love it and consider it a huge value. For me it has too many needless surround modes.

I own the NAD M15 and love it. I feel no need to upgrade. When 4k hits I will simply bypass the video and go straight to the TV. Im done trying to keep up with HDMI.

Many people consider the Marantz to be the most processor you can get for the money. The votes here seem to corroborate that.

At least 2 of those listed are modular designs so depending on support from their ce's I wouldn't put them in the obsolete category just yet smile.gif

The price is enough to put me off those 2 but wink.gif Ide wait for the one I want as I see many mention atm ; too many end of life ones presently ..

I am a Krell Foundation owner. Krell just recently offered to upgrade our Foundation processors to a 4K version along with other enhancements for $1,000.00. I took advantage of this offer as it is significantly cheaper than purchasing a new processor. Also I wanted to support Krell for giving us an easy upgrade path and keeping our equipment relevant. Plus the sound from this unit is incredible (IMHO). You do have to send your unit to Krell to have the upgrade performed.
