I found a dude around my area willing to sell an open box (slightly used) denon 1713 for $300. Should I go for this deal or just buy the x1000 on accessories4less for $350?

Depends on whether you want any of the additional features on the X1000 and whether the 1713 seller purchased from an authorized reseller and can provide you with a copy of the receipt.

X1000 vs. 1713:
Network diagnostics; Input Assign (HDMI and analog inputs); Zone 2 pre-out variable volume control; HDMI Video Select (USB, Tuner,Network); All Zone Stereo; AM radio

** Think the AVR is defective?  Reset the microprocessor 4-5 times.

Guy is willing to sell the 1713 for 250, which he bought from best buy. The thing is practically brand new with everything from the box.

So my plan to buy the 1713 fell through today. Now I'm thinking about buying the x1000. My question is to buy it new or refurbished (from accessories4less). The only official denon dealer around my place is best buy.

Does anyone know how the 2112ci compare to the x1000? Found another person who is willing to sell their 2112ci for $350 but willing to negotiate price. Of course, I could just wait till the 2014 models to be released and buy the discounted 2013 models...

^^
Audio quality would be similar but the 2112CI is a 7CH model vs. only 5CH with the X1000.
