Hi guys I'm new here just trying to figure out why my older PIONEER-VSX series receiver sounds much much better than my newer stuff I.e Harmon Kardon AVR 2600 and Denon AVR 1612 (lower end I know) I have calibrated via Auddysey even set the crossover freq manually and the sound is terrible compared to my older analog receiver the newer receivers get hooked up VIA HDMI PCM,BitStream Dolby True HD all that stuff I have tried it all the speakers I am running are KLIPSCH RF-82 I have read that they are efficient but the sound difference is immense any ideas? THX!!!

If you haven't already, please take the time to look through the Audyssey 101/FAQ at

The instructions in the receivers' owner's manual are woefully inadequate.

Marantz SR7009 avr + MM9000 amp --> Atmos 7.1.4
Fronts=NHT 2.9+AC2, FH+TM=DefTech PM1000, LCR+TM amped
