I'm trying to figure out how I can most simply create a 2-channel audio system in my basement. I already have an old Onkyo 2-channel Amp (M-5160). The Cambridge Audio folks say the DacMagic Plus can be used as a preAmp since it has volume control.

With the DacMagic upstream of the Onkyo Amp, would the following work well?

Blu-Ray Player>DacMagic Plus via coaxial SPDIF
Apple TV>DacMagic Plus via Toslink optical
HDTV>DacMagic Plus via Toslink optical (I want the TV audio connected because I use an antenna instead of cable)
