I Just stepped up to a Marantz 8801 and I'm looking to upgrade my amp next. I am looking for headroom and quality with xlr to go with it. I can pick up a Marantz 8077 for around $1500 which claims 100,000µF capacitance vs The Sunfire Cinema Grand which doesn't have a reading I can find but can be found as low as $600 on ebay. I did see where it has 18 hexfets in or on the power supply, Im not an expert, but I don't know how that translates. I have a carver tfm35 on my klipsch rc-64 now and love it. I know Bob Carver is great at efficiently converting power. There are extra channels on the Marantz which is a plus. Any advice on experience or comparisons is appreciated. I have rf-83's for fronts, rb-61's for surrounds, and rs-52's for surround back.
