UPDATE: Friend needs a zone 2 type of functionality because his tv and computer screen are in two different areas in his room and would like to connect two sets of speakers. i've been looking and it seems like only 7 channel receivers do this. is there a recommendation for me out there? the receiver can be a few years old. it just needs to have hdmi and spdif inputs. thanks again everyone

Hi all,

I have a pc (s/pdif and rca out) and a sharp lc-39e440 and i wanted to hook up 2 speakers to it. nothing fancy just want something that can switch between the two inputs. Don't want anything too large either. got any recommendations for under $200? what are my options?

I was looking at some t-amps but i'm not really seeing any within my price range with optical out. Thanks!

My HT: Onkyo 818, polk m60 Hsu HB1-MK2, HC1-MK2, svs pb12+/2, svs pc13

Just picked up a refurbished Denon 1513 for $99.99 yesterday. They've raised the price slightly, but it still seems like a solid deal. Audyssey isn't important if you're using your PC. Do you already have speakers or is that part of your budget too?

Pyle doesn't have nearly the reputation for quality as Denon, for example. We have an expression around here "Pyle watts", suggesting that their power specs might be fantastically inflated.

I'd go for the cheap Denon and then you can just add a pair of bookshelf speakers or find a budget 5.1 set up. They exist and you'll save money versus a HTIB like the Denon DHT-1513BA, which is the 1513 with a Boston Acoustics 5.1 in the box. There's also a refurbished Denon 5.1 HTIB on Denon's website. It comes with the 391 amp.
