Hi All,

hopefully someone can help me here, I have a low end amp (Denon AVR-591) and looking if there is amp that will allow me to turn the Headphone's on and off via a the remote?

All my AV gear is under the house and I have a set of Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 that I want to cable to under the house.

If someone has any ideas this would be awesome!

Thanks
Iain

Nope. All receivers will turn on and off the headphone output automatically depending on whether something is plugged in.

Not with those headphones, no, but if you were to change to a set of wireless headphones you could plug the transmitter into the SB/FH pre-outs and select the Multi CH Stereo mode when you wanted to listen through them. Otherwise, with a higher level model, you would connect them to the Zone 2 pre-outs and select Zone 2.

Thanks for the reply. What amp would be good for dual zones?

Wireless headphones come with their own amp that is built in to the transmitter.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at replacing the amp with a 2 zone amp, what would you suggest there?

Ah . ... misunderstood ... you meant a Zone 2 AVR. The Denon X2000 is a 7CH or 5.1/Zone 2 unit and would be a very nice upgrade to your 591 as it uses the more advanced Audyssey MultEQ XT and has Zone 2 pre-outs.
