Hello, I bought a 2 SonArray SR1 systems and a Sherwood RX-5502 around a year ago to eventually install them. The time to install them is coming up and I am not sure whether or not these speakers will work with this amp. I paid a lot for the speakers and not that much for the amp and am thinking whether or not this amp will actually work with these speakers. I would be connecting a set of 8 sat speakers and 1 sub into A and then another set into B (see manuals-links below). I want to run both sets at the same time and don't want to harm the speakers in any way when doing so. 1.Will the current amp work? 2. If so is there anything I can add to protect the speakers like a fuse or something Or if not what is a amp that could work for my problem?

You should be fine. The RX-5502 can safely run both sets of the SR1. You will have about 40 watts available for each channel (4 satellites and 1/2 of the subwoofer). Depending on the size of the yard and your output requirements, this may or may not be loud enough. But if you follow the installation instructions, it will be completely safe.

Thank you for the help!

On the speaker requirements it says that the speaker system has a 50 watt minimum so how would that work if I only get 40 watts per channel? I am also confused on the Impedance it says that if you have both A and B on, that you would get a 16 ohm impedance and the speakers say 8 ohm. Will that hurt them?
