Hey all,
I have a question about the compatibility of this Yamaha stereo receiver and these Pioneer speakers. The former is rated to handle only 8 ohms and above, but the speakers are 6ohm. Will there be a problem if I put these two together? I'm just looking for an inexpensive apartments bookshelf system.
Thanks!

Yamaha receiver's should work with 6 ohm speakers. The ones I have owned say they do. Check the manual if in doubt.

"But this one goes up to 11"

The manual only mentions 8ohm speakers, but it has a "High dynamic power/channel" section that mentions 8/6/4 ohm power output.

you'll be fine driving 6 ohm speakers.

The specs mention 8/6/4/2 ohm loads so you shouldn't worry about 6 ohm speakers.
