Agreed. It obviously will be feature packed like the newly announced Onkyo pre-amp. Should be a good battle between it and the Marantz 8802.

Also, afaik, the Integra DHC-80.6 does not have Audyssey MultEQ XT32 for speaker set up and room equalization and is instead relying on its own "in-house" designed AccuEQ, which as boasted in the ads does not offer equalization for the front L/R speakers, as if the procedure should be avoided at all cost !
In my HT room Audyssey MultEQ XT32 processed by the Integra DHC-80.2 makes a huge difference taming those nasty low frequency room nodes as well as smoothing out mid-range and treble frequencies and it has become essential for my enjoyment of audio/video sources, certainly much/much more so than any upcoming incarnation of "Dolby Atmos".
I was actually hoping the new top-of-the-line A/V processor from Onkyo + Integra would perhaps offer Trinnov Room Optimizer to differentiate itself from the rest of the pack but, alas, i guess Trinnov is now considered "passe", irrelevant.
My past two A/V processors have been Integra and i have been very impressed by their performance (excepting the HDMI board issue, which was repaired free of charge within one week) but without Audyssey MultEQ XT32 i am afraid my next A/V processor will not be an Onkyo + Integra model.

I read the statement regarding AccuEQ to permit users the option of not EQing the front speakers, not that EQ of the fronts was unavailable.

New Product Data Sheets (NZ)

You can see the pdf brochures for all of the new Integra product (New Zealand 230 V power though) at the following link.

http://integraworldwide.com/nz/produ...r305/index.htm

Not certain what to replace my old Pioneer Elite 49Txi with (new higher end AVR or separables), it will probably come down to what starts showing up locally.

Looks like the Onkyo DHC-80.6, and Onkyo 5508 and Onkyo 5530 are the only THX Ultra 2 announced Atmos products so far.

I just had my hdmi board replaced. Mine is just under 3 years old. It was ready in under a week and I get it back on Monday. The 80.6 brochure gives me more questions than it answers. Do you have any indication of availability date or price?

Hi

Are you sure about the Onkyo 5508 having Dolby Atmos?

Cheers

Often, they look different on the outside, but the main difference is Integra = 3 year warranty and Onkyo = 1 year warranty.

Do we know a release date and or price yet? I do like the extra sub outputs! 11.4 is nice.

EDIT: Found the price on the Onkyo website. MSRP $2,499.

Well a few of my petty thoughts...

1. Is the "Accu EQ" version on this identical to the lower/Onkyo models? The lack of EQ on the main L and R is truly mind-blowing to me. All the same- if this unit ticks the other boxes I would simply get a mic, rew, and a mini dsp and put my own work in.

Now the others:

2. Is the 2.2 HDCP on all inputs/outputs or is it hamstringed to one input and output like the onkyos?

3. Can ALL digital inputs FINALLY be output to the zones? At the very least 2 channel hdmi sources?

Short of this, ATMOS, a 3 year warranty TBAse, and all else actually makes the $2499 POTENTIALLY reasonable for all that's onboard.

Damn though does the absence of a proven room EQ system really have me rattled though.

James

Bit of bad news to us mede mortals re MSRP, according to Integra's site it appears to be $3200, not $2500:

I have the 80.3 and like the sound an features very much........now, looking at the specs and lack of XT32 on the 80.6 there is no way I will even consider an up-grade just for ATMOS capability and a few other gimmicks, especially given the price point.

Just my 2 cents.

Agree! It will be several yes before I do a upgrade and that will depend on how many movies actually use Atmos.

I know this is not an apples to apples comparison but replacing Audyssey with Accueq looks to ben a deal breaker for me.
https://translate.google.co.uk/trans...html&edit-text=
Likely the consequences of the use of a $5 mic and the limited internal processing power.
Audyssey Pro with a real mic and the processing power of a PC provided outstanding performance.

And this is the best they could come up with their lead in for the product description? I almost feel insulted!
"From solid alloy faceplate to gold-plated 11.4-channel XLR pre-outs, the DHC-80.6 exudes audiophile quality"
Really gold plated! Hello 1990's

At least they weigh the same.....

I'm so disappointed

When I worked in the field gold plating electrical contacts was to prevent corrosion plus maintain a good electrical connection and not for appearance.

I think you may have missed my point.

Touting gold connectors as your lead-is liken to

You're right - I missed your point as sometimes subtle humour evades me!

I thought you were taking a jab at the use of gold in the connectors and not at it being the lead off most significant new model advance in their advertising.

I should think that anybody with Integra DHC-80.3 with an Audyssey Pro calibration kit would be disappointed that Audyssey has been dumped from the DHC-80.6, and probably good reason not to upgrade.
