Emotiva have now announced that they are shipping the XMC-1 beginning next week.
This thread is for primarily for owners of the unit, would-be owners and those with hands-on experience to report their findings, good or bad, on the XMC-1.
Of special interest will be the implementation of Dirac, how well it works, what it can and can't do, how it measures up against other affordable, automated room correction systems such as Audyssey XT32, MCACC, YPAO etc.
Bug reports are also welcome of course (if any).
To start the ball rolling, here is Emo's bench test results of the XMC-1 - an impressive 90 page report:
By way of full disclosure, I do not own an XMC-1 but I am especially interested in its implementation of Dirac REQ. If anything was going to persuade me to buy an XMC-1, then this would be it.
Finally, can we leave Atmos out of this thread please?
The XMC-1 does not have Atmos and that's that. It is what it is. The last thing we want here is for the thread to be derailed by endless discussions about Atmos - there are already dedicated threads on AVS for this.
