Best bang for MY buck AV reciever

I'm running a 7.1 setup and maybe... MAYBE might step up to a 7.2 in the next year or 2. Anyways, I'm looking for the best bang for MY buck AVR under $800, 1k at the ABSOLUT out the door price. I plan to have this AVR for at least 5 years. I require Android comparability, WiFi is a nice bonus. Aiming for approx 100wRMS on all channels. Options? Recommendations?

The best B4B is going for a factory refurbished unit, IMO.

For your budget and needs it's a close call between these two from Accessories4less:

ONKYO TX-NR1010 for $950 shipped

DENON AVR-X4000 for $800 plus shipping

Both have independent dual subwoofer pre-outs. Both pack the premium Audyssey MultEQ XT32. Both have 11 sets of binding posts. Both have iOS and Android remote apps. The Denon is AirPlay enabled. The Onkyo is wireless and Bluetooth ready via an optional USB adapters.

Personally I'm partial to the Onkyo, particularly at sub $1K, for it's beast of an amp section (140W/ch, 8Ω, continuous; 270W/ch, 4Ω, dynamic) and the attendant THX Ultra2+ certification. There are a many here that love the value proposition offered by the Denon however, and I wouldn't blame you for going in that direction either.

Hope that helps.

That Onkyo has closer to 100W per channel. tbh I wouldn't buy a Onyko, with the HDMI board failures.

Krell Evolution 900e x 7

Bose Jewel speakers.

Jealous of my speakers?

Did I say "all channels driven"? The usual convention is to quote 2 channel driven figures, which I'm clearly doing.

HDMI board failures have not affected the Onkyo TX-NRx010 models to anywhere near the extent that they have in previous years.
