Denon 2307 receiver problem...

Hi.

My 2307 has the accursed flashing red light on the standby/on button.

My question is, is it possible to disconnect the power amp section leaving me with the preamp/processor part working?

I'm using it with my active Adams anyway and don't need the power amp section. Seems a pity to throw it away as it's still a more than adequate processor.

Any help will be very much appreciated. I'm a bit stuck

Thank you.

At the moment I'm using an Emotiva Stealth Dac for stereo and it is quite superb.

The thing is I'd like to try out the Audyssey in the Denon.

I'm rather convinced that correcting for room issues is more important than any other factor once a certain level of electronic competence has been reached.

Any ideas gents?

I can't.

The receiver will not switch on permanently.

It works for two seconds. Then switches itself off with the standby button flashing red. This may indicate an issue with the power amp section, or so I've read.

That's why I asked if it is possible to remove or disconnect that section and just use the 2307 as a processor only and, hence, the audyssey part too.

No one able to point out a rescue plan I see.

So it seems the Denon is off to the dump then?

A pity as it's a fine preamp/processor even without the power amps.

Bummer

Thanks anyway.

did you reset the microprocessor?

Did you disconnect all connections including the external amp?

Hi Afro.

Yes I have.

All connections off and the microprocessor rebooted half a dozen times.

No joy

But if you mean did I disconnect the processor from the internal amps, I don't know how to do that.

I assume its one or more of the ribbon cables, but finding out how, even on the net has proved troublesome.
