Fix bugs, add new features, etc. It is the same as updating the BIOS on your computer.

Your are wanting to know what the firmware update is fixing, yes? Has the 4810CI just recently received a new update or did you recently acquire the unit and it has not had the firmware updated in quite some time?

Also note there is a 4810CI Owner's thread ............

Denon AVR-4810CI/AVR-4810 w/ 9.3ch, Dolby PLIIz/Audyssey DSX, October 09-

------------
"JD" - Call 585-645-1006 or email jd@avscience.com for AVR selection and pricing discussion 8am - 8pm EST daily (incl Sat/Sun)
Authorized dealer: Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, Onkyo, Sony, Def Tech, Atl Tech, SVS, Oppo

Think you have a defective AVR? Owner's manual - Factory reset 4-5 times in a row.

Please pick one:

1. I have owned the AVR for 5 years and have done all of the previous updates and now there is a new update.
2. I have just recently purchased the AVR used and have no idea when the last update was done.
