Receiver for Bedroom Advice

I've got an older Sony HTIB setup in the bedroom. It's not passing through the HDMI audio, so I have to use optical for the sound. It's time to upgrade. I'd move my main theater AVR up and get a bit better one for the main room but the Pioneer SC-1522 is a bit much for the bedroom IMO.

In all reality I won't be running REW sweeps, doing any acoustic treatments, etc etc. At most I'll put some nicer in walls in and upgrade the sub.

I'll go either complete HTIB or separates. I have all the mains/surrounds up now so although I will replace them I don't have to do it right away. The main thing right now is an upgraded AVR that will decode Dolby True HD / DTS Master Audio etc.

I'll have a media player and netflix type streaming box hooked up, along with HD cable TV. So at least 3 HDMI ports, prefer four or five.

Airplay would be a huge plus. Huge!

Control by iPad app is a must.

I'm familiar with Pioneer and actually prefer MCACC, but in this situation Audyssey might be the better choice for the set it and forget it option.

I'd consider a used AVR any day. Refurbished too. I'd like to keep the price down as much as possible. Also looking at new TVs for the wall, and as I mentioned speakers and a sub.

Looking forward to some suggestions.

Last year's 2013 models are on clearance. Consider the Denon E300 or E400 both with Audyssey MultEQ and Airplay and controllable via Denon's iDevice remote app.

For speakers, check out the Hsu surround setups. Very well reviewed, and around $300/pair.

This is a good option for the bedroom - and you can easily remover the rack-mount ears.
New in the box - from a good Ebay seller
