Not sure if the signal strength meter works on my Marantz 2100 tuner

When I find a good signal it goes up just a little bit.. Wondering if that's an issue or not. I don't have anything plugged into the antenna ports on the back so maybe that's why.

sorry i should have posted a pic of the front. this pic is not my exact tuner, but you can see the signal strength meter just above the mono and muting buttons...

Plug in an antenna wire. You can start with this one: http://www.parts-express.com/fm-dipole-antenna--210-020 Probably similar items available at Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, etc.

It looks like the horizontal "pole" on the back is an antenna, perhaps just for AM?
