Older Marantz 4500 VS Denon AVR-3808

Hello guys,
Just wanted to ask a quick question.
Will I see an improvement over my older Marantz 4500 if I purchase a used AVR-3808?
I'm using CMC2 for center, CM9's for front and some random Jensen rear speakers.
Thanks!

Most likely yes as the 3808CI uses Audyssey MultEQ XT room EQ but is a 2007 model, although even a lower end current 2013/2014 model with only MultEQ would likely sound better as well as have more modern features you may prefer.

If you are thinking of purchasing the 3808, you really need to give JD a call at AVS (the post above mine). He is extremely knowledgable, sells new Denons factory authorized at fantastic pricing. Many of us here have purchased through AVS.

JD can explain in detail what you would gain from the new receivers. There are some incredible pricing on the 2013-2014 models right now.
