Just to add my experience: I had good experience with my first Denon 3806. My second 1-year old Denon X4000 just kind of died, no audio and video output. Apparently it happened simply from a single accidental click of the Power button in the web controller. It never came back after that despite numerous resetting.

Denon's quality is going down hill. Along with it, it'll bring down the good old Marantz brand as well. For this particular reason, with much hesitation, I am buying a Yamaha. From what I read, I am surprised I haven't looked at Yamaha much in the past years. They are much more reliable and musically great receivers. Myself, I have no interest in the ATMOS hype (tried height speakers) and have no interest in chasing the newest whatever.
