Are all receivers made in Japan

If I remember most receivers were made in Japan and also designed there in the past.
Is that still the case or are they mostly designed in Japan and manufactured in China, like everything else these days?

Was Marantz made in the US for a while?

The majority of the AVRs are assembled in China and/or Malaysia, almost no AVR production in Japan. Design teams are based in Japan, Korea and China.
Regarding Marantz...
They built amplifiers and preamplfiers in the USA up until 1981, they did build 1 stereo receiver (Model 18/19)
up until 1980.

Just my $0.03..

A few of the flagship receivers are still built in Japan using higher quality components. Denon 4520ci for sure, also the new x5200/7200 are made in Japan

If there is a Marantz that is similar to the Denon 4520ci ...

Denon and Marantz are made in the same factories and designed by the same engineering team.

If you search the web for images related to a certain model number there is often a picture of the back panel that is detailed enough to show the country of origin. I was able to verify the country of origin of the Denon 4520ci tha way.

But of course there could be a running change over the life of the model...
