Need Receiver - 3 TV setup - $500

Brother finishing his basement room. He wants 3 TVs- 70 and two 60s.

Each TV will have its own cable box so different games can be watched.

Need a receiver that can handle this setup, been out of HT for a while now.
Would like to be able to flip inputs to get sound from different games to play thru speakers.

Assuming need 3 hdmi outputs?

3D not required
Wifi bonus
Going 5.1 or 7.1(2)
Not sure of other options as my receiver is Pio SC-05

Speakers have not been selected, but probably something easily driven. (Suggestions are welcome $1500 budget)

Budget of $500 if possible, less is better of course. More of a sports media room then HT room

In this instance you don't really need HDMI on the receiver at all except for system setup.

The best sound from a cable box is Dolby Digital 5.1 which you can get from HDMI, digital coax or optical output.

Connect each cable box directly to its corresponding TV via HDMI.

If all you want is sound just run digital coax or optical from each cable box to your AV Receiver. Switch inputs on your receiver when you want to hear sound from the individual cable boxes.

Just find a receiver with multiple optical/digital coax inputs. Most Marantz and Yamaha receivers have two of each which should do the trick.

Yamaha RX-V675 has two digital inputs and two optical inputs

Marantz SR5008, 2 optical and 2 coax

Denon 2312, 2 optical, 2 coax

Thank you^^. Are those best bang for the buck? Would like to have airplay to in order to play music, maybe even eventually set up a second zone in other part of the basement

Which unit would you suggest? See the Yam is $100 cheaper, but how is it compared to the Denon and Martz.
