Setup
We recently bought the Denon X5200W and have a set up with a 9.1 speaker configuration. However, we are facing a big problem with the receiver. Once we set up everything, we did the Audessey calibration when all the speakers were really loud (which indicated that all the speakers are working - even the bass was really shaking the room). We have a PS3 connected (all audio settings on the PS3 are compatible now) and started playing a bluray.
Problem:
The sound from the bluray is really quiet. In fact, we needed to turn the up the volume to around 80% to hear anything. At 25% no sound even plays out of the speakers. The rear and surround speakers cannot be heard as well. Everything is really quiet and you don't get that 3D sound.
The same issue is replicated even if I use the "ONLINE RADIO".
Settings:
Dolby Surround (really quiet)
Dolby Neo T (still quiet but better than Dolby Surround)
Please let me know if these problems look familiar to you. Thank you!
As a buyer of Denon, I am
PS: I am using all Dali speakers. JL Audio sub.
tl/dr Expensive Denon receiver is really quiet and needs you to turn up the audio to 80% to be able to hear and has subpar audio quality.
