My AVR died.... help pick replacement

My Onkyo 709 has always run really hot, and it is now dead (no sound). Still handles video, but audio is dead. Assuming heat killed it. Anyway, looks like I need a replacement.

I am looking for a minimum of 7.1 + zone 2.
Network capability with Pandora / Spotify / Netflix / etc... apps
MUST be able to control from iphone app reliably
at least 5 HDMI input, 3D capable, able to decode uncompressed audio.
Air Play would be nice
A switched outlet would be nice. I am thinking about adding a fan to vent the closet when the AVR is on.
Ability to upgrade to add a RF module would be nice as well (or built in RF capability).

This is in a theater room in a closet almost entirely for movies / TV. Zone two is out by the pool for music.
I tend to use the phone from downstairs to turn on the zone 2 out by the pool, as well as when I am in the theater room to control volume, switch inputs, etc....
Anything over 100 W / channel should be sufficient.

Nothing too fancy, and I am not opposed to buying refurbished units. Looking to spend no more than $500-$600. Easy setup and easy to use would be nice, wife gets intimidated by tech stuff easily. Hopefully something that will last > than the 3 years my Onkyo lasted.

you'll be lucky to find a receiver with switched outlets nowadays.

The Denon x3000 might interest you.
