Upgrade to Denon avr x4000, help please.

So I am thinking of upgrading to a Denon x4000 receiver, I currently have Denon avr 1712 and there is someone who is selling the x4000 for 600 close to where I live. My question is will it be a nice upgrade from what I currently have I dont want to spend 600 if it wont be be a nice upgrade. Any help is very much appreciated

Yes.

The 1712 is basically a low level receiver for Denon, and the x4000 being more on the higher end. The x4000 is a much better receiver in pretty much all aspects. The x4000 has more watts per channel, 4k pass-through, Apple airplay, networking capabilities, oh and did I mention a phono input? Vinyls are back! Just depends on what features you want.

+1 - and don't forget the X4000 includes Audyssey's highest level of room correction, XT32 which is arguably the best room correction software available.

Refurbished with warranty is only $650. Used for $600 is too much. Show them this and get a better price.

Refurbished is "used" and no guarantee of being "issue-free", not to mention if seller has original purchase invoice, there would still be over 1 year warranty left. That's a good price.
