Anyone went from a Denon to a Yamaha A10xx and above

I currently own a Denon 1712 from 2011 and I was thinking about upgrading. Looking to spend around $800. I can purchase last year's A2030 for about that amount and it looks like it would cover all the basics. Would this be a nice upgrade as far Clarity and Quality of Sound over my older entry level Denon? Anyone upgraded from a Denon in 2010 or later to a Yamaha. Not sure how a 4K technology will come into play later on, but I am not planning on upgrading my Panasonic Plasma any time soon. Lots of Post here about XT32, but the reviews on the X4000 are not always very positive, but what do I know? I am running a 7.1 setup in a enclosed 20 x 16 x 9 room.

Just don't go for the 1030/40. No independent crossovers or subwoofer eq and digital
audio inputs can't output zone2 independent of main zone like 2030 and above can.

Not likely. While there are audible differences between the various room calibration routines in the various units but would suggest that the differences are trivial. Some folks will disagree with me, of course. If you are looking for sound quality you will find it in the speakers and room acoustics.
