Hey everyone, I'm in some need of help
I have an Sony DN850 and I used the auto calibrate to setup my speakers (5.1 setup).
Before calibrating, I saw in the pdf manual for the receiver that I should set my subwoofer crossover frequency to its highest. The only knob I see is a Low Pass Knob, which I set to the highest, which was 150Hz.
After calibrating, I noticed that the DN850 set my speakers to 'Large' when they should be 'Small.' Due to this, I manually changed the speaker size to 'Small. '
This opened up a new option for me, 'CROSSOVER FREQUENCY' which was not available to me when the speakers were set to 'large.' within this option, my L/C/R and surround sound speakers were set to 120Hz.
What I am concerned with is:
Should I just trust the Sony calibration and keep the Sub at 150Hz and the speakers set to 'Large?'
Or should I manually set the speakers to 'Small' and adjust the crossover frequency accordingly?
If I should adjust the crossover frequency, what do I adjust them to? (this is the part that is giving me the biggest headache cause I don't understand this)
My L/C/R frequency ranges are 60-25kHz and my surround are 80-25kHz
The subwoofer has a dial which can be set at 80,120, and 150 Hz.
As I said, the value for the crossover frequency after I set them to 'small' was at 120 Hz for each speaker, while the dial of the sub was at 150 Hz.
Thanks for any help
