Right now I have the Pioneer Elite VSX-90. I have the chance to get the SR6011 at a killer price(probably wont get this deal again). My question is should I buy it? I know the Marantz does DTS-X and that is a big selling point for me. Any thoughts from you guys would be great about pros and cons
6011 is superior to vsx90 in every way. Depending how good the deal is, i would 6011 without any hesitation. I sold my vsx90 for &200 on craig and got x4200
The VSX-90 is a 7CH lower level model with limited HDCP 2.2 inputs, no main zone pre-outs, no DTS:X, and only capable of Atmos 5.2.2 whereas the SR6011 is a 9CH model (expandable to 11CH using an external 2CH amp) and features HDCP 2.2 on all of it's rear inputs, has main zone pre-outs AND multi analog inputs, and features both Atmos and DTS:X 7.2.4 capability.
I went ahead and ordered the 6011 based on your recommendations. It will take a couple weeks because it is back ordered.
